Schreiber, Hyacinth Clara (Marriage - 10 Aug. 1944)

Given in marriage by her father, Miss Hyancinth Clara Schreiber met her bridegroom, Cpl. Phillip E. Ganser, before the high altar in St. Thomas’ Catholic church, Milan, Thursday morning at nine o’clock and exchanged their marriage vows. The Rev. Raymond Schultz officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a white satin gown with a beaded neckline and long train. Her lace edged veil was finger tip length and fastened to a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a white prayer book, interleaved with streamers of ribbon tied with white and pink bows and a pearl rosary, a gift of the groom.

Her only attendant was Miss Gertrude Ganser, Madison, sister of the groom, who wore a pink net frock. She carried a nosegay bouquet of white asters and gladioli and wore white natural flowers in her hair.

Kenneth Schreiber, Milan, brother of the bride, was best man.

The bride’s mother wore a black dress with fuchsia trim and the groom’s mother wore a two piece summer suit of blue. Both wore corsages of sweet peas and baby’s breath.

Music during the nuptial high mass was sung by the church choir. During the offertory Miss Carmeletta Schreiber, sister of the bride, sang Bach’s "Ave Maria" with the accompaniment played by Mrs. J. F. Samson of Abbotsford, Wis.

Baskets of delicately colored gladioli were used in the church decorations and at the home. A beautifully decorated wedding cake served as a center piece on the bridal table.

A reception for approximately 75 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schreiber, grew up in Milan and was graduated from the Abbotsford high school, after which she was employed at the Oaks Manufacturing company, Chicago.

The groom, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ganser, Sr., of Mosinee, is in the searchlight battalion of the air force, stationed in Los Angeles.

Cpl. Ganser and his bride will leave Sunday for Los Angeles.
